Buying a jukebox...
Tips & tricks
Bennies Fifties imports original jukeboxes from the fourties and fifties, originating from dry areas in the United States. The advantage of jukeboxes from that area is that they never have become moist or plain wet and that's why the chrome parts can be restored to it's original state. Of course there are always cases where you have to replace these parts while in restoration.
It's just like a vintage car; these are always in a better shape when kept in dry conditions. Though you can check the meters of a car for the number of miles it has been driven, with a jukebox you can't check it like that.
Furthermore there are Mexican jukeboxes, most of the chrome parts of these jukeboxes have to be completely replaced, simply because the weather is taking it's toll after years of moist surroundings. These machines are still being used in the outback of Mexico.
So whenever you're thinking about buying a jukebox, ask where the jukebox is coming from. Keep in mind the value of the jukebox if you ever want to sell it again, because quality jukeboxes from the USA are a good investment and may become more valuable over the years. Certainly they are beautiful decoration items for your living room, company entrance or diner. Real music lovers listen to the music of the fifties and sixties on jukebox... simply as that.
