De Rebel Sings is een verzameling van Johnny Cash-opnamen zoals in de late vijftiger jaren op zes Amerikaanse EP's zijn uitgebracht. 'Don’t Take Your Guns To Town', Cash's breakout single bij Columbia Records; "Five feet high and rising", "Frankie's Man, Johnny" en "Rock Island Line" behoren tot de hits hier.

De laatste vier tracks tonen Cash's penchant voor "concept" albums. "The Rebel - Johnny Yuma" (het thema voor de westerse tv-show "The Rebel") was een hit single.
